Calcot Schools’ PTFA – Treasurer’s Report 2018 - 19

Summary of the year

This report covers the period from 01/09/2018 to 05/09/2019, the second full accounting period for the PTFA. The first annual return and accounts were submitted successfully to the charity commission in June after independent audit.

The fundraising efforts of the PTFA within the last accounting period have been hugely successful. The headline figures are as follows:

Income

This income is generated through four main sources; events, matched funding and grants and other initiatives (such as the school lottery and bag2school). The breakdown of the PTFA gross income by source is shown in the pie chart below. Event fundraising remains strong and there is a continued need to concentrate efforts in the next accounting period on securing further matched funding and grants.

Spend

The PTFA has spent a total of £29,145.63 in the last accounting period. This spend can be categorised into operational spend (the day to day running of the PTFA), event spend, and spend to support the school directly.

Supporting The School

Over the last 12 months, the PTFA have supported the school buy funding the purchase of a new learning space, resources, training, school trips and experiences for the children and will continue to work closely with the school to to enrich the children’s education.

Operational Spend

Operational spend is the money the PTFA uses to function on a day to day basis, it includes expenses such as website hosting, PTA UK membership (now known as Parentkind) along with licenses.

Event Spend

This is the money the PTFA have spent to put on events over the last accounting period, it includes purchases such as materials for set up, food and drink along with stock to be sold at events in order to raise money.
